From conceptual design through construction, G. Greene handled it all: vetting and hiring the design team, exploratory pre-construction work, developing the design in tandem with AirGas, permitting, site work, and seamless integration into the new oxygen tank farm.

Solutions

  • Kept existing oxygen tank farm active throughout all construction activities, as oxygen is essential to patient care.
  • The existing O2 tank farm was located on the side of a steep incline. G Greene’s civil division and construction worked shoulder to shoulder to efficiently and safely complete the work.
  • Executed precise, off-hours crane pick of new O2 tank farm and completed same-day tie-in to create a seamless transition for the hospital.

Results

  • Developed design with architects; geotechnical, structural, and mechanical engineers; AirGas, and owner.
  • Expedited permitting during the COVID-19 shutdown.
  • Completed underground utilities & concrete pad installation.
  • Executed final oxygen purity testing and O2 Tank Farm go-live process.
